Dana Kae Boudoir // Lavender & Presents

After hours of research and planning, I spent all day yesterday shopping around downtown Seattle and Bellevue for the perfect packaging to represent the brand Dana Kae Boudoir. Now I’m going to tell you how I did it!

I got the kraft boxes and aqua ribbon at Michaels. The tags came from Watson & Kennedy located in downtown Seattle (very cute little store). Each thank you card will have a hand-written note on the back as well.

I hand stamped and embossed the dress onto the box, using clear ink, embossing powder, and a heat gun. It’s raised like glue or paint would be and it looks awesome in the light.

Inside there will be:

-3 cute paper flowers

-a little hand-filled bottle of lavender

-a thumb drive with your images in high & low resolution

-and a pair of my favorite Hanky Panky panties from Nordstrom!

Location: Urban Light Studios ― Greenwood, Seattle, WA
Hair & Makeup: Ashli Danielle
Client: Desirae

Desirae had a natural instinct for the camera. She arrived early and brought lots of wardrobe options, which we mixed and matched with some of my things. It started to get sunny, so I quickly hung the lacy curtain. I had been hoping for some artsy patterns on her face and I got it! Her red hair made me lean towards the blue-orange palette. I love when a really fiery red reacts with a cool blue, specifically with purple or yellow undertones. So pretty! And with her blue eyes? I’m sold!

I cherish collaboration.

I feel it is the lifeblood of this industry.

The first time I worked with Drew Hisey and Dapper Media was a short while ago when I volunteered to produce a short video of artist Macklemore for the ACLU of Seattle. It was truly a pleasure to work with them and the video turned out amazing. Of course I thought of them again when this boudoir project came up. I feel like Drew truly captured the essence of my brand and style. I couldn’t be happier. Take a peek!

What a great day.

What a great guy.

What a great vid.

Happy Valentine’s Day Lovers!

I know it may seem a little early to start planning your Valentine’s boudoir session, but it’s actually the PERFECT time. Believe it or not, these shoots usually take about 3-4 weeks in total. Add in the time it takes to design, bind and ship an album, make that 8 weeks! Check out the typical session schedule:

  • The pre-shoot brainstorming session –  1-2 weeks before the shoot.
  • The photo shoot – a full day of fun averaging about 5-6 hours.
  • The post-shoot image review – 2 weeks after the shoot (1 week if we shoot between 2/1-2/7).
  • Digital images – ready for delivery or pick-up 3 days after the image review.
  • Flush press photo albums – average delivery is 3-4 weeks after the image review.
Don’t wait! There’s no time like the present to empower yourself and feel amazing. Get in touch to schedule now!
